Canon EOS 1D X – din martie 2012

Stiu, nu am mai scris nimic aici de cand aveam unghiile moi. Stiu, am lasat photowalk.ro in paragima, dar uite ce efect benefic are lansarea navetei in spatiul pozografic entuziast al profesionistilor care au de unde sa cheltuie (estimat pentru retail) 6800USD. In aceeasi data cand anunta 50 de milioane de body-uri EOS fabricate + 70 de milioane de obiective EF mai anunta si EOS 1D X-ul. Imi place foarte mult ce va iesi in primavara pe piata foto, Canon EOS 1D X este o nava spatiala, are niste specificatii super!

Pe scurt (pentru ca s-a scris in multe locuri si as posta informatie redundanta):

- 18 megapixeli
- 3 procesoare Digic (2x Digic 5 si 1 Digic 4)
- sistem nou de autofocus (61 puncte) + sistem nou de metering
- ISO 50 pana la ISO 204800 – au laudat in mod special senzorul
- 12 cadre pe secunda + un mod “superspeeedturbomode” la 14 cadre pe secunda
- conector rj45 pentru retea, capabil GIGABIT
- un nou controller wireless 802.11n
- Filmare HD, codec nou – compresie mai buna
- … si altele

Sunt curios ce vor lansa pe celelalte segmente (zona 7D / 5D mk2)

F64.ro aduce in Romania obiectivele marca Voigtlander. Deocamdata pe montura Canon este doar un obiectiv dar in timp pun pariu ca oferta se va diversifica. Yummy!

Cine fura fotografii?

In legatura cu cautatul (si din pacate – gasitul) celor care fura fotografii, ignorand legile drepturilor de autor am mai gasit cateva site-uri care functioneaza in felul urmator: in momentul in care se introduce o cautare noua – o fotografie oarecare – acesteia i se va genera un fingerprint unic (o semnatura) si o va compara cu cele deja colectionate in baza de date.

Fata de solutia care cauta dupa date din EXIF (prezentata in post-ul anterior) aceasta are sanse de reusita mai mari. Datele din EXIF de puteau ajuta macar sa localizezi camera, daca se urcau neprocesate pe internet, dar cum toata lumea photoshopeaza…

Canon EOS 7D Firmware 1.2.5 – Canon EOS 7D Product Page (aici)

Canon has released a firmware update for the Canon EOS 7D digital SLR camera. Version 1.2.5 improves read and write speeds when using UDMA 7-compatible CF cards, and addresses various issues with custom function C.Fn 4-1, movie and still capture using certain CF cards, and menu screens displayed in Arabic and Portuguese.

Nikon D7000 Firmware 1.02 – Nikon D7000 Firmware (aici)

Nikon has issued a firmware update for the Nikon D7000 DSLR camera. Version 1.02 resolves a number of issues and changes the way long-exposure noise reduction is performed. Specifically, dark frame subtraction is now applied to all photos taken using shutter speeds slower than 1s. Previously, long-exposure NR was applied to photos captured with exposure times longer than 8s only.

Olympus XZ-1 Firmware 1.2 – Update prin Digital Camera Updater

Version 1.2 adds a new menu item, “Picture Orientation”. Given that the camera’s orientation sensor might not always be able to correctly recognise if an image was taken in portrait or landscape orientation, users will now have the ability to specify the orientation of any given image in Playback mode simply by a turn of the click-stop dial. The user-defined picture orientation is then saved in the EXIF.

Every photo you take with your digital camera contains hidden information about both the image and the camera such as the make, model and date. This information, called exif data, can also include a unique serial number which identifies your camera. stolencamerafinder crawls the internet searching for photos, collecting the serial numbers of the cameras that took them. When you use the drag & drop feature, stolencamerafinder reads the unique serial number from the exif data of your photo and uses it to match against serial numbers it has stored.

Asta, cu siguranta functioneaza, pana in momentul in care cel care urca pe internet fotografia facuta cu camera instrainata (sau urca in alta parte o fotografie furata) va trece fotografia prin un soft de editare iar serial number-ul camerei va disparea din exif…

Pentru ca pe multi ii streseaza ideea ca entry level DSLR-urile sunt fragile, iar carcasele de plastic… nu sunt la fel de rezistente ca cele din aliaj de magneziu… cineva a avut timp sa testeze cat de rezistente sunt DSLR-urile “de incepatori”. Dureaza cam mult filmuletul – “do not try this at home” dar rezultatele sunt WOW. ) MWHAHAHA!

Canon – 60 de milioane de obiective EF!

Twenty-four years after the first Electro Focus (EF) lens launched, Canon announced that it had reached a milestone by producing the 60 millionth lens in the series. This landmark was achieved on 11th January 2011 during the production of an EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM (pictured), thirteen months after the production of the company’s 50 millionth EF lens.

Am gasit un site dragut unde ne povestesc cum sa ne facem noi singurei obiective Tilt-Shift. DIY la el acasa, eu o sa incerc ca nu pare foarte greu iar materialele folosite nu-s asa de greu de gasit.

Au facut-o si pe asta, dar nu avem noi obiective/body-uri asa de mari .

August 31, 2010 – Canon Inc. announced today that it has successfully developed the world’s largest^*1 CMOS image sensor, with a chip size measuring 202 x 205 mm. The sensor is capable of capturing images in one one-hundredth the amount of light required by a professional-model digital SLR camera due to its expanded size enabling greater light-gathering capabilities. Potential applications for the new high-sensitivity CMOS sensor include the video recording of stars in the night sky and nocturnal animal behavior.
At 202 x 205 mm, the newly developed CMOS sensor is among the largest chips that can be produced from a 12-inch (300 mm) wafer, and is approximately 40 times the size of Canon’s largest commercial CMOS sensor.

Carl Zeiss a anuntat Distagon T* 1,4/35, un obiectiv la un pret recomandat de 1390E fara TVA. Va sosi pe piata la inceputul lui 2011.

In comunicatul de presa cu acest obiectiv spun ca Distagon T* 1,4/35 va completa prime-urile de 1.4 – Planar T*1,4/50 si T*1,4/85. Ne promit un obiectiv sharp cu niste calitati optice exceptionale la care subliniaza “special bokeh effects” si “bright light sources without artifacts”.

Pretul la care il vom putea cumpara ar fi de 3 ori mai mare decat cel pentru Sigma EX 30mm/f1.4 (de exemplu), dar nu cred ca performantele obiectivului vor fi de 3 ori mai mari, punand in balanta si lipsa autofocus-ului. Au promis monturi Canon si Nikon pana acum…

Canon EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM

Canon a lansat un fisheye la aproximativ 1800E.

When paired with Canon’s full-frame DSLR bodies, such as the
EOS 5D Mark II or the EOS -1Ds Mark III, professional photographers can choose to capture circular or full-frame fisheye images, allowing them to view a scene in a completely new and unique way. This new level of choice provides enhanced creative flexibility when shooting scenes such as the night sky, where the full 180º horizontal and vertical fields of view (FOV) allow every detail to be captured with incredible clarity in one single image.
When used with EOS bodies featuring APS-C or APS-H sensors, the
EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM produces a more traditional, full frame fisheye view. A zoom-lock mechanism on the lens body allows the range to be limited to the focal length that ensures the best possible full-frame view without unsightly vignetting around the edge. ‘C’ and ‘H’ markings can be found next to the zoom operation ring, indicating the wide-angle zoom position where vignette-free shooting is possible with either sensor, allowing photographers to achieve optimum results with any EOS body.
